scarah2: I just want to make sure everyone has seen this buried subthread

We report child pornography to the NCMEC, as required by law.

Scroll down to markf's reply in particular. It's heavily implied that ponderosa121 and elaboration were reported to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Harry Potters Children.

I'm going to check innocence_jihad and if this isn't already there, I'm gonna crosspost it. Sorry if you see it twice, but I'm finding that a lot of people haven't lurked quite as aggressively as I have and haven't seen it.

According to this, "Federal statute defines “minor” as any person younger than 18.6 “While a majority of states follow the federal statute, some state laws define ‘minor’ or ‘child’ as a youth younger than 14, 16, or 17.7 Delaware law includes any person 18 years of age and younger in its definition of a ‘child.’""

I wonder, is it still strictly a minor if it's a fictional character?

Good thing to wonder, since Harry Potter is technically 10 years old. He wasn't born (created) until '97 ;) Well, he wasn't introduced to the world 'till then. I think JK mentioned he was alive in her head for a while before that?

Harry was 10 long before 1997. I'm not good with dates, but he is much older. Info should be around somewhere. '91 somehow sticks out in my head (Well, whatever the date he came to her on the train.)

anyway. this just reminds me of umbridge. god.
